It’s Good to Give Charity Art Fair
It has been great to be back in the studio working on some new prints and paintings for an up and coming charity exhibition in aid of It’s Good to Give on Friday 9th June at Balanced Edinburgh.
I started with a favourite scene from one of my daily dog walks up in the field below Lauriston Castle. I just loved the stripes of colours in the field and autumnal trees created from a stunning light one morning. I titled the work ‘Coming Home’ as it is also the scene which makes me feel so grateful to live where I do as I drive down the hill (several times a day!) from Davidson Mains to Cramond, looking out to the forth .
I experienced a few technical problems with the Photopolymer plate resulting in a print I wasn’t entirely happy with but persevered with monotype layers and finally paint to create a very small and unique edition of work. I’ve included a detail of the print but will wait until the exhibition is up before I post the final result!
